In Collaboration With…

A free podcast about craft, culture, publishing, and community, In Conversation With… features authors and other literary community members in warm, intimate, and informal conversations about their lives and work. Hear how writers started on their path and what keeps them going, especially when the going gets brutal, and learn about the sometimes unseen community of people and books that inspired, assisted, and carried them through their darkest times. Hosted by Co-Lab co-founder Brian Gresko, who has the soothing voice of an NPR angel, episodes drop every two weeks.

The Lab

The Lab is an affordable monthly accountability and coaching program designed to spark your creativity, draw you to the page, and keep you writing. It began in 2026, designed by Jiordan Castle and Brian Gresko as a way of extending and further focusing the incredible vibe of the Ungodly Hour Writing Club. Every week begins with a pithy email of encouragement and inspiration and ends with a supportive group mentorship session. On the days in between, you have daily opportunities to write with others in silent online gatherings, under the guidance of a Co-Lab facilitator, and chat via the Co-Lab Discord server. It doesn’t matter your genre or level of experience, The Lab is a place to experiment and play, form friendships with other artists, and develop your ideas from inception to final draft.

Upcoming Sessions

August 31 to September 25, The Lab Asia Edition with Uttama Patel

September 21 to October 16, The Lab East Coast Edition with Brian Gresko

The Ungodly Hour Writing Club

We write at dawn! Seriously, there is nothing sexy here: participants gather in a silent zoom at the most ungodly of hours to keep one another accountable as they commit and re-commit to their projects. Together, we build a regular writing practice. Started by Co-Lab co-founder Sara Lippmann in 2023, The Ungodly Hour Writing Club is free or pay-what-you-wish, with all donations going to the Co-Lab scholarship fund for students in financial need.

There are currently no sessions planned, but typically the club returns every few months like an infection we can’t shake, so keep your eyes peeled.

Creative Resistance Essays

In the darkest of times we look to the light. For the first 100 days of this current authoritarian regime of idiocy, Writing Co-Lab delivered a free message of encouragement, opposition, and commiseration from 100 iconoclastic contemporary voices, which we called 100 Days of Creative Resistance. We are proud to provide the complete archive for when you need a reminder of why we write in a world that seems bent on destruction, and excited to have new pieces posting throughout 2026 to help keep you fighting and writing.
