The Lab is an accountability and coaching program designed to spark your creativity, draw you to the page, and keep you writing. It doesn’t matter your genre or level of experience, The Lab is about being in community with writers online and committing to your art. The Lab is a place to experiment and play, form connections with other artists, and develop your ideas from inception to final draft, and it only costs $25 per monthly session.

Here’s how The Lab works:

  • Don’t write alone – You get access to weekday silent writing sessions via Zoom (mics off, camera optional). These sessions are intended to be flexible in nature. Come anytime during the session, stay as long as you’re able, leave and return, skip a day if it doesn’t work for your schedule; make it work for you!

  • Find Mentorship – At the end of each week, stay online after the writing session to have your writing and publishing questions answered, or simply to talk about how the previous week of writing went for you in informal chats led by your hosts

  • Build community – You have access to Writing Co-Lab’s Discord server, where writers connect, chat, and share resources asynchronously

  • Experience gentle guidance via weekly emails of inspiration from Brian Gresko, in your inbox on the Sunday before your writing week begins

What Past Participants Have Said

“A simple and supportive space to work in, and the live classes were also excellent and worthwhile. It helped me set a morning routine of writing that I can continue. I look forward to joining future sessions.”

“This group is really special! I have been to other silent sessions, and there is something about this one that really felt different to me! Hard to put words to it (ha ha), but it’s true- an energy? Discovering this group has been a highlight of my unemployment time, which started with some lovely free time to focus on something I wanted to learn more about (writing), turning to a pretty scary point in my life as money drained and jobs were scarce … this was a light. A true anchor to get up every day and keep going. THANK YOU.”

“Brian, the host, is pitch perfect with being supportive, kind and positive, without being distracting for a quiet writing group. I felt really lucky to have the cohort we had, lovely people.”

“Having this space has been so helpful for me, truly. Whenever I see friends and they ask what’s going on, it’s the only positive shift in my life I can think of in these dismal times.”

“I really enjoyed the support and camaraderie of this group! Participating was so motivating for me and I got a lot of work done that I probably would not have otherwise!”

“I am new to all of this and found this to be such an incredible thing to look forward to every morning. Even if I were not ready to write something specific, I would use the time for other writing-related tasks like reading, reviewing files, and researching a topic, or playing with prompts. It really is incredible how I cannot carve out the time on my own, and this made consistency and prioritizing my needs so easy.”
