Generative Writing Through Playful Interaction, 1 session with Anca L. Szilágyi

1 session, Tuesday, September 22nd, 7-9pm ET/6-8pm CT/4-6pm PT

Online

$50

Enroll in this class.

This class centers playful interaction and collaboration as a way to shake up the creative process and find new ways into writing. Who says writing must always be solitary? We’ll play associative improv games, mine memory, and use artifacts to create prompts for each other and explore pursuing what stirs us to write. Participants should bring to class a line of overheard dialogue, an object, a fabric, and something smelly, like a spice or perfume (of course this last item will be for your smelling experience only). Opportunities for sharing will focus on what energizes the writing; this will not be a critique. Students will leave class with six story openings, a plan to finish at least one, and generative techniques they can use on their own, beyond class. Come ready to collaborate and play!
